Maybe not the most profesional of jobs but here is my short guide to removing an 8v engine and gearbox
May help someone

Firstly jack the front of the car up and remove the wheels

Next pull out the split pin on the castle bolt and remove the bolt (both sides) you will need a deep 30mm socket for this

Next remove the nut from the bottom ball joint and from the track rod end (both sides) 18mm spanner

Once removed get your ball joint splitter and split the bottom ball joint and track rod end ball joint (both sides)

Now pull the hub forward to release the driveshaft (both sides)

Now you need to disconect all the wires pipes and cables under the bonnet there is no need to cut anything, you need to disconect everything that connects the engine and box to the car remember to drain the power steering fluid before disconecting the pipes

You will need to disconect the wiring loom from the ecu which is located under the drivers footwell to the right hand side

Then feed it out through the gromit in the bulk head

Next disconect the manifold 13mm nuts

Now drain the gearbox oil and split the drivers side driveshaft at its joint

And remove the bracket that holds it in place 15mm bolts
Then remove the driveshaft on the n/s from the gearbox this can be done easily with a flat ended bar
The easiest way out is to drop the engine out from bellow so you will need to get the car high in the air and attach a hoist to the engine so that you can remove the subframe

Once the engine is secure you can remove the engine mounting bolts 2 15mm o/s 2 15mm n/s and 2 17mm bottom rear mount then the subframe bolts 4 17mm and 2 18mm be careful not to drop the subframe on your head LOL
Now lower the engine and raise the car and its out
