Is it as easy to fit as the 3.0 Teejay?

I've no doubt it's a better built engine, but is it worth having if it's extra hassle?

Engine is likely to cost a bit more than the easier to find 3.0 and I wondered if it drops in as easily.

Yep, the ecu, the alternator, the clutch, timing belt etc can all be used from the 2.5.
I think the sensors would have to be swapped over as the plugs on the z32SE are a different shape.
You will also need the inlet and fuel rail etc from your original engine.
You can keep the sump that's on the new lump though.
I'm going to get a new thermostat as it has to be the one from the 3.2 as it's a different part on the 2.5, new heat exchanger, new water pump, thinking about a clutch as although the original will fit the recommendation is to fit the one from the 2.6 as it's slightly bigger, you just need to get a new thrust bearing as the 2.6 is from a vectra which has a hydraulic slave cylinder.
I've already got a lightened flywheel and I'm going to get new induction, top and bottom and ancillary silicone hoses just cause my originals are looking a bit tired.
If you've got the funds it may be worth getting a new alternator as it's a much easier job while the engine's out!
If you're uprating manifolds and down pipes this is the time to do those as well but definately get new manifold gaskets.
I think the 3.2 has plastic cam covers but the Veccy B cam covers will fit.

Teejay I'm looking forward to your project thread on this ;D will you be doing the work yourself?

Also as for useing the original inlet and fuel rail how much of the original inlet will you use off the 2.5? As the 2.5s inlet is quite restrictive so it would be even worse on a bigger capacity engine.

No I won't be doing the work, Geffd will be doing it but I will do loads of pics as we are hoping to get the whole thing done in a day.
The lower divider from the Omega/Vectra will replace the original - I already have one which I was going to put in my 2.5.

Spot on mate, iv got the larger lower inlet on mine and it did reduce the two flat spots but saying that putting the lightened flywheel on has made the flat spots more noticeable again as you loose that flywheel affect that hid the flatspots before.

noticed your oil pressure gauge is off the scale - these happens when the lead comes off / breaks off the sender unit on the oil pump

Hi I worked for the V6 Engine Plant for 13 years carrying out durability tests and warranty issues.this job included many trips to USA,Sweden and Germany. My oppo and I bought all the factory tools for the V6 when it closed and repair V6 engines at weekends. also have tech 1 and 2. will answer any v6 questions you have.

yeah need to have a play with that soon the bulb doesnt eluminate either  ::)

Il be looking forward to that project, is the standard inlet manifold capable or would it struggle?

standard inlet will be fine, the lower divider is a good upgrade to the one that comes out of the Omega. I think Butcher showed some pics when he did his
You could port and polish the throttle body manifolds etc but you wouldn't get any majot benefit from that unless you went right through with uprated s/s manifolds, down pipes, sports cat, and cat back exhaust
