 sorry to drag up an old post, but. ive a question about the hid conversion. you know when you meet cars and they have normal headlamps, (not the optics like calibras) and they have hid's in, they are very dazzling. i know others with optics have them as standard and they dont dazzle. so are they ok in the calibra?  ye lads and lass's who have them...do ye ever get the flash from people?

They are fine in a Calibra as it uses projector headlights and ive never been flashed by other drivers, fit and be happy at night :)

As long as your lights are set properly you won't dazzle anyone

I have never been flashed by other drivers :) Dajanitor, yours got to be dodgey ballasts I would think?

You tried swapping them around? are you sure they are wired properly?

My first set used to flicker slightly for a few swconds as the warmed up...and then would be alright...if the flicker all the time then yes it may be a ballast problem (if one yes...two could be wiring? as I would think it unlikely to have both ballasts go together?)

Yes both flicker, i tried checking connecitons, i tied the ground in with the ground on the original ground wiring with one of those cut-in crimp things. Didnt seem to be a problem...

Are they flickering constantly?..or when they are first switched on?..because I would say its not a problem if they flicker for a short time to get up to temp?

Constantly.

They are very dim at first, and flicker on, then they fine for a moment or two, then start flickering.

Is it a case of voltage not being constant? I read somewhere to fix it by adding a capacitor between positive and negative going into ballast....

I think it's your ballasts myself, I've never heard of having to add anything on to them TBH.
