hi all ive just bought a hid light kit for the cally , was wondering where you put the ballasts so they are secure and not in the way of other things , not sure if theres enough room on the inner bays

I took my front bumper off and fitted them in behind that. Not sure where others have theirs though

Bumpers are easy to get off. There are the 3 screws/bolts under the bonnet at the top and if i remember right 1 in each wheel arch and one below each corner if that makes sense. think there are also 3 fixing clips underneath it, the ones you push the centre piece through to release them. Thats from memory, its been a while lol. Never had any problems with water or anything but others might have a different opinion

Ballasts fitted to a previous cally, never had any problems with wet and always worked.

With the new slimline digital ballasts you can hide them anywhere you like.

Ok guys I have a question you may be able to help me decide on.

I recently bought another HID kit for the new angel lights in my cally, these were supposed to be "slim" ballasts and after a nice exchange of words to the seller, he is sending the proper ones to me and I can keep the brick ones he sent firstly.
Now I have a choice of a 35w and 55w ballast installation,   I'm thinking of installing the 35W for normal driving lights and the 55W for the highbeams?... would you guys agree?

this is the 35W kit

this is the 55W kit

yeah i know..ripped off with the 35W kit but atleast I'll get 2 kits out of it...lol

Well mine are old now so have got 35's in low beam only, more than adequate, I never use high beam and haven't for years :)

My old ballasts used to be 35w and they worked a charmed, could read street signs and billboards with ease and never got flashed at for blinding oncoming vehicles. but occasionally I travel up north and i'm thinking having brighter(?) 55W in high beam would help me see the Kangaroos and cattle that are trying to hitch hike or become hood ornaments..

Help me out here guys, where the f*ck does the HID's take their power from? I'm guessing from the old connector for the oe bulb and i'm guessing I connect the red wire to that so what does the black wire connect to?

Instructions in this kit are sh*tE!
