thats beyond me already then lol

Grinding in valves is a piece of cake, just get a tin of paste and a stick with a rubber sucker on the end and start grinding, you'll soon get the hang

The valve springs are held in place by the valve collets, it's 2 tiny pieces of chamfered metal that wedge the spring to stop it from pinging off. As trig says you need a valve spring compressor :)

P.S NEVER put a claw hammer near a cylinder head again :D

Depends what the damage is tbh. You'll know more once you've got the valves out, post some pics too

As long as you haven't seriously damaged the valve seats you should be alright I reckon

Callum, let me get money!! and weigh up the pro's, and con's! if i can get away with using my own head, then I will! If i have to buy the bits and pieces seperatley then I will, tools will come in handy for the future anyway..... leave it with me bitches!

Carl: no i didnt lol, reading that thing makes my head hurt lol, and the lack of images doesnt help, espcially when the ones they do have are in black and white. thats a major downside to the Haynes manuals!
