V6 Oil Cooler
« on: June 12, 2012, 21:48:05 PM »
Hi Mates,

My friend has got a hole in the V6 oil cooler and the new is too expensive, he is thinking the external oil cooler. The blank plate is no problem, I can cut it from stainless steel with wire EDM machine, but lot of question in my mind.

- Which oil cooler should be? From C20XE / C20LET?
- Should be use the C20XE / C20LET termostat plate?
- Where should be the location of the external cooler?
- Should be enough cooling for the 2.5 engine? Or the oil will be cold?

Does anybody done this modification and has got experience?

THANKS!

The only trouble with an external oil cooler is that you loose the heat exchanging properties the standard oil cooler provides
It sits in the 'V' of the engine submerged in water so that the water can warm the oil up quicker at start up
