Hi can anyone confirm if you do a resistance test on the 4x4 system solenoid it should test out to 10 ohms. both of mine are test to 8.9 ohms does this mean they are broken??

Cheers  Rod

Hi scotrock

So sorry for the delay.....I have been working on my car this week due to the head gasket failing.  I have stripped her down because she was overheating and leaking oil ....Also a compression test proved this to be the case.

I will get on with the test tomorrow ......(Saturday) and I will let you know the results.    As far as your question Re:  Resiistence testing you could

ask Richard King  of www.cav16.co.uk . You may or not know that he is the author of the 4x4 transfer box Manual.....well worth a read.

Kind regards

Turbohead.

Hi scotrock

These are the results of resistance test on my 4x4 system for Sale. ..(09.0   ohms)....not getting the 10 ohms you are quoting.???

Unless you can confirm  the correct ohms measurements  needed then the test is of no use.

The one I am testing came from a friends Calibra turbo and he confirms that it was working correctly before he removed it.

Please can you find out the correct ohms reading that will confirm the solonoid is ok or not.

Good luck

Turbohead.
