STIFF CLUTCH AND NEW CLUTCH CABLE TIP
« on: September 09, 2018, 07:32:05 AM »
I installed a new Clutch Cable in my Calibra, i couldn't figure out the old cable, it kept needing running adjustment and finally i had no adjustment left. so new cable. awesome, nasty jobbie but changed, then a week later, the clutch pedal jammed on the floor. this required some skill at timming traffic lights to get the car home without useing the clutch. took an hour an a half to travel what i normally do in 30 minutes. the problem was the thrust bearing was jamming on its support, i had been on a few dusty dirt roads and it was really  grubby in the clutch thrust bearing area, a quick clean with some brake cleaner and then lubricate with spray grease and WD40 had it working a charm, my stiff clutch is now very easy and very smooth drives a treat. just thought it might help someone with a stiff clutch, clean the thrust bearing.

You have to take the gearbox off for that? Defo do in the Turbo. So easier to replace the lot while there.

Mine seized on the way to Silverstone. No amount of lube was sorting that out haha!. As hinted at, why not replace the lot when it was off?
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.
