PO340 Camshaft Sensor incorrect signal
« on: November 01, 2018, 20:42:23 PM »
Hi All,

This code PO340 Camshaft Sensor incorrect Signal has come up on the diagnostic reader. A post on the VXON club replaced the camshaft sensor and connector with a Hella 6PU009 121-311. Is this an OE part? When looking for this part it states that it fits the Calibra X2.0 XEV 16v ecotec engine? I appreciate there are plenty of posts regarding this topic , BUT has anyone fitted the Hella parts resolving/removing PO340 code.
Local GM Garage can supply sensor GM 24445139 @ £115 + vat, housing/connector if required GM 9201903 available @ £72+vat.
Any Help greatly appreciated at present only thing stopping the cally returning to the road.

Hi
I advise before paying out for an expensive sensor........just check the loom along it's length and into the plug. Recently I had a fault code for the T.P.S
Sensor......so was about to buy one.

It turned out that the two wires just before they enter the plug were bare of insulation......so the plug had twisted and caused both wires to twist together causing a short.

So after repair work to the insulation.......code cleared..and all is well.  Trouble is ageing wire insulation cover can crack and leave wires to short together or even break off.

Hi,

Thanks for the tip will inspect cabling insulation and re-insulate where required and hopefully this might clear the code.

Thanks Again.
