No pump prime or spark
« on: February 28, 2018, 20:48:57 PM »
My v6 has been a mystery lately,  I'm not showing a stored code for the crank sensor which I presumed was my problem with no priming or spark but not sure now. Also I changed the fuel pump relay for a brand new one and checked the fuses and ran 12v to the pump and that works fine. Still refusing to start. I'm still suspicious of the crankshaft sensor but like I said, it's not showing a code for being faulty. Any ideas anyone.

What model (C or X) and year? Immobiliser fitted (factory or after market)? Do you have any lights during cranking?

Hi, it's a c25xe factory immobiliser and only the engine management light stays on during cranking, thanks

Is it on solid or flashing?

It's a solid light, no flashing, also opcom says that immobiliser code is received and the immobiliser is inactive. I thought it may have been an immo fault but from what I can see it isn't, a real mystery.

It does sound like crank sensor fault - or possibly ignition amp but I’d suspect the former, it’s a common fault. If you have the know how you could test it otherwise get a replacement and swap it out.

That's exactly what I thought, when I tested the crank sensor with the multimeter it's resistance keeps creeping up from 300 to 1000 if I hold the probes on pins 2 and 1. I will have to find a decent crank sensor but they are really hard to find now and darn expensive.

Have you tried giving Autovaux or LMF Vauxhall a call?

I'll make some enquiries with those 2. Thanks for that. I've also got an automatic search running on eBay for the part number just incase one happens to become available. I'm more than sure now that it's the crank sensor. Thanks for the help.
