How do you get the windscreen washer hoses out of the bonnet?
« on: December 30, 2011, 14:41:43 PM »
I need to replace the washer jet and the short length of hose on the passenger side of a V6 as a monkey pulled out the washer jet, and chewed the hose off, in the local wildlife park (no joke)  ::)

The end of the hose is now loose inside the bonnet and i can't see or reach it. I have the replacement bits, so its just a case of clipping in the new washer jet, and fitting the replacement peice of pipe. The washer pipes in the bonnet all run back to a plastic T peice that you can see, just inside the hole in the bonnet that the main washer pipe disappears into (see below)

The problem is, as far as i can tell, the T piece is too big to be pulled out of the bonnet hole, so i can't get it out to pull off the old pipe, and fit the new one, and that's where i'm stuck.

Anyone any pointers?

You can see the T Piece in the pic below. The main pipe that runs from the washer bottle comes into the T piece at the bottom, the passenger side pipe is on the left, and the driver's side hose is on the right. As you can see the T piece looks to large to come out of that small hole.

The little git at work. Only took him about 3 seconds to pull it out, before i realised what he was doing!

 ;D ;D Longleat?

I think I would take all 3 pipes off, prise off with a small driver using long nose pliers to hold T piece? Then I reckon it'll wriggle out, just don't lose the drivers side ;D Tape something to it maybe, bit fiddly but worth a bash?

cut them off get new washer jets from any vectra, cav, calibra and feed hoses through. if you take the sound proofing off you will see the bottom of the jets. i put vectra B hoses on mine because they look like there beefier and look like carbon fibre(pathetic but hey). the jets just need 2 lugs pushing inwards. then change the lot to the bottle.

I went to a safari park many years ago and vowed never to go back. Silver trim ripped off the Granada I had.
