Handbrake button stuck in, and rachet not locatable?
« on: October 05, 2009, 15:45:13 PM »
My other half took my V6 out for a short drive last night, and came back reporting that the handbrake had suddenly stopped working.

Had a quick look this morning, and the button is stuck in, and i can't locate the rachet to lock the handbrake lever? The handbrake still works, i just can't lock it on the rachet, its as if its not there!!

Not had the handbrake lever apart before so not familiar with it. It will probably be obvious when i get the central console off, but anyone had this happen before and know what the likely cause might be? Hopefully it is just something that has come loose or shifted, and isn't going to mean new bits!!

TIA

You pair of car breakers you :D

Never had it happen tbh but I'd whip the console off, easy enough and have a peek.
