Relays Behind fuse box?
« on: December 29, 2013, 17:59:31 PM »
G'day, relays behind the fuse box??? Had engine + starter probs water was leaking in front window seal (some idiot never replaced it properly) and wetting and rusting those relays behind the fuse box. Replaced the starter relay behind there and now starts fine. Then realized the previous owner had removed several of them for likely the same reason, I have no squirty window washers F+R, no alarm horn or indicator flash while alarm is going off they just stay on, no ac click (could be out of gas) headlight adjuster motors don't work and few other small things not working?. I have several missing and no idea which ones to buy and replace there? Even if some one could look on theirs perhaps with a mirror? and tell me left to right front to back or part no's etc. I'd appreciate it. Bought it for my gf and we both love it but it's getting frustrating! It's a 92 16v. In Australia btw. Cheers in advance. Ps. I have checked the owners manual and Haynes repair manual and trawled thru hours on google and can't find anything?

Relays behind fuse box? Where do you mean?
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

Hi, sorry bout double post. They're up behind fuse box in the dash above accelerator pedal? there's spots for 5/6 relays. They're actually quite hard to get to, to have a look. I had to pry the base out with a flathead screw driver to wipe off rust and check them and noticed i have a couple missing.

Ha ha, no worries. They're really hard to see and it's very hard to get your hand up in there to get any out. I think most people would not know they were even there! As I said above I had to pry out the base to even have a look what they were. They're not in the owners manual nor my repair manual? I think it may be a last min fix by Opel from LH/D To RH/D? Cheers.

Ok I found this on the net. I've only put those that are behind fusebox on this list.
ecu locations: DimDip - Black heatsink Behind fuse box
RELAYS: Headlamp washers - Early models in the relay box under the bonnet in yellow base. Late models behind the fuse box in green base.
Front Fogs - in fuse box, small relay on right
 Rear heated screen -
Early models without timer - in fusebox small relay on the right.
Late models with timer - Behind fusebox in green or brown base.
Horn -
Early models twin tone - Behind fuse box in black base.
Rear intermitant wiper - Behind fusebox grey relay in red or blue base.
Aircon models have relays behind the fusebox for,
 Fan Load 40A blue
 Fan full speed light green
Fan on speed 1 when aircon on
 Aircon off when autogearbox hot
Main beam relay behind fusebox white base ?

But my problem is what voltage/amps/timer are these relays as I have none in there to look at?

You can find other ecu + relay locations here:  http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk/index.php?threads/ecu-relay-locations.103/
