I have always found Araldite to be an ideal adhesive for making strong repairs to plastic - as long as bits are cleaned carefully to remove any oil/grease, a good firm bond can be achieved and some extra glue can be used to strengthen around the join (kinda like a weld) as well. It can also (to some extent) be colour matched with a quick squirt of paint of desired colour into the glue as you are mixing it up (not too much though) which also makes it ideal to fill in small holes (such as when a badge is removed) in the bodywork or trim!  ;)

Still got the 16V Ecotec as well........... AND a mint shell waiting for a V6....

Thanks boffin. I wasn't sure how that kind of adhesive would cope with engine temperatures and also engine movement. I think the breather pipe may have some movement and 'pull' slightly whilst the engine is running, and hence put some strain on the repaired pipe connector.

So until i replace the rocker cover and gasket, I opted for Loctite Superflex adhesive (

FYI, the camcover doesn't get overly hot. That's how it can be painted with no problems :)
