Just an update that may be of use to others:

I had the Cam Sensor issue again as above with the EML coming on all the time. The car was also being a real bugger to start sometimes seemingly because of the sensor. I changed the sensor yet again but the new one made no difference at all.
Pi**ed off by this I thought that there must be the underlying problem and thought that maybe the sensor was not getting enough voltage to work properly. So, I checked the battery and read 12.8V so that wasn't too bad. I then checked the earth continuity to find that from the -ve terminal of the battery to the head there was a resistance of 13.8 ohms  :o
One clean up of the battery post, clamp, and earth strap connections later and the resistance was down to 0.3 ohms, and the car fired up and ran like a dream  8)

So there you have it, if you are getting sensor issues and the EML coming on it may well be worth checking the battery earth.
I want the glove compartment filled with Mars bars, Wine Gums, and Jelly Babies ..... and Ham sandwiches, the sort that come in cellophane packets, and sausage rolls .... but no potato crisps, they interfere with transmission

Good advice.

A good earth to any circuit is absolutely essential, yet gets overlooked so often.
