transfer box middle plate - Hydraulic RAM
« on: August 27, 2017, 17:43:44 PM »

Has anyone manage to rip apart the the hydraulic ram of the tx box?

or is there anyone who has a damaged one who is ready to break it off?

I really would like to see how it is made up maybe somehow I can fix mine. For the time being I'm not considering locking the box :)

I one have one tx box so I cannot risk too much.

grateful if someone help

Hi dbonnici and Welcome  :)

I stripped my trans/box some years ago and rebuilt it using good parts from a spare donner  box........It is possible to dismantal the ram/plate to expose the Ram Seal....... But because the seal is not available to buy separately sadly there is not much point.

I did read once that some guys experimented with different materials but all makeshift seals failed after a short time..........your best option is to
buy a used ....

trans/box.......and with luck the Seal is undamaged.....also the clutch plates and other parts are may be reusable.

If you need more expert information I suggest you go to a website called .it has a wealth of information about Transfer boxes.....and he even wrote the Technical Manual which you can download for your own use FOC.

And was founded and run by a very good and helpful guy.......Richard..... 8)

Well worth a visit.
