308mm brakes on a Calibra

Which calipers to use
Use Vectra B calipers off any Vectra with 288mm brakes (eg a V6) or from a 2.6 GSi. You CANNOT use any of the other calipers from other Vauxhalls with 308mm discs, for example the Zafira GSi or Mk4 Astra Z20LET as the mounting holes are different!

Which carriers to use
a) LMF conversion carriers (below)
b) Standard GM Vectra B 2.6 GSi carriers

Both of the above options will bolt direct to any Calibra leg and let you clear 308mm discs, with a caliper listed above.

Above: LMF 308mm conversion carriers

Discs
You can use any Vauxhall 308mm discs in your conversion, either standard Vauxhall ones, pattern parts or aftermarket ones (eg Mtec, EBC). You can buy them listed for any of the following Vectra B 2.6 GSi, Zafira GSi, Astra Mk4 Coupe Turbo / GSi. They are all the same. Note you will need to redrill them to 4-stud for a 4-stud Calibra.

Above: 308mm discs listed for a Vectra 2.6 GSi. Vectra 288mm calipers, LMF conversion carriers... all on a Calibra leg.

Brake lines
All Calibra brake lines will fit directly onto a Vectra caliper, no swap needed

Additional info - important
Unless you have a Calibra equipped with 288mm brakes (late turbo/V6) - you may have to grind your hub down by a few mm to fit the 308mm disc on. If you do have a late turbo/v6, this is not needed.

Can I use front brake calipers (calibra v6 with 284 mm brakes front) for rear axle (stock brake discs 270 mm with calipers 35 mm) with vectra gsi rear brake discs 286 mm??? Holes for brackets are the same!

Only thing I will say is the late Calibra V6/Turbo Calipers can be used as well as the Vectra ones

What is the minimum wheel size for this conversion? 16"? Just wondered as any V6 owner will tell you there is minimum caliper clearance as it is.

16s are fine I've had a 16" alloy on mine

15" might even be possible

I would be very, very surprised if they fit under standard 15" alloys.

Would certainly knock any weights off lol

It's not uncommon for brakes to go under 2" smaller wheels than standard. 256mm which came on some cars with 16" alloys will fit under 14s for example

I know that mate but this is the standard clearance.

I just thought you might be pushing it on 15"s and if you knew the minimum wheel size it could be helpful to anyone interested in the conversion.

Let me just add that, to some of the more novice amongst us, instead of re-drilling the discs you mentioned to 4 stud, just buy Meriva 1.7 cdti discs, as they are 4stud, and big enough to cater for the application

Meriva discs will work a lot of people use them, not sure which Meriva but some use 4x100 280mm discs that are fine. Not quite as big as the 288's but all that means is you don't gear a wear lip on the edge of the discs.

Mate has the late turbo calipers Ben, and just got the meriva 280 discs, said they wont fit, well the pad sticks way out over the edge

Ill say that to him Ben Thank you, Slightly off topic question here, Is there any one who does brackets so that I could raise 16v calipers to fit 280 discs?
