I can do it without any thought whatsoever, so much infact that not only do i not have to move the gear lever i also don't have to press the clutch pedal. It's almost as if it's automatic :D

Yeah, but I bet you can't bump-start it...  ;D

I had the cluch cable snap in my old Corsa one night at about 2am in the middle of knowhere. Ended up driving home (15miles) clutchless. Just my luck I met the cops in my hometown who decided to stop me.

When asked what I was doing, I just explained that the cable had snapped earlier and I was just getting it home, which was up a 2 1/2 mile steep hill lol, the cop then turned round and said that would be impossible with no clutch lol!

He wasn't laughing when i turned the key in 1st and tore off up the street exhaust deafening all the neightbours haha!!
Rust never sleeps......... Neither do I

im goin to have to retract my 1st post on this thread.  I was younger and alot stupider then.  The origional topic driving without use of clutch 1st made me mad, then think then got me curious.  I had an old corsa stock car lying about so over the space of a year or so i taught myself the dark art of driving with no clutch using the steps on here.  LOL it was like learning to drive for the 1st time again and involved alot of trail and error.  But now im 100% practiced at it.

Only thing is every car has dfferent rev limits that let it slip into other gears and diesels seem to be that wee bit harder to do but all in all a very usefull skill to know.

Its taken 3 or 4 years but i retract my previous loud mouth statements from this thread, and just think from this thread its started a chain reaction, ive since taught all my mate over in ireland ere to drive this way just incase lol
Theres no replacement for displacement.
