Rust Prevention

The two most prone spots on Calibra bodyshells are the outside lip of the rear wheel arches and the seam concealed under the rubber weather strip at the bottom of the doors (It is worth taking them off and checking).

The seam is towards the back of the car and acts as a water trap. In both cases a paintbrush loaded with WAXOYL put on early enough will stop the problem ever happening.

The overall most efficient way of ensuring your car doesn't rust, is to simply keep it clean. Pressure washing is not always the best way, a good soapy sponge is the best way, to prevent scratching and removal of the important laquer that covers your car's paint layer.

put a couple of hundred ml of waxoyl in a clean 500ml coke bottle or similar and submerge it in boiling water to heat it up. working quickly tip the hot waxoyl between the inner and outer rear arches(accessed from inside the car behind the rear quarter trims)
done this to all my previous vauxhalls for the last 10 years and i have never had any real problems with rusty rear arches
oh and when you wash the car, scoop the crud that sits on the lip inside the rear arches. this stops moisture from sitting there rotting your arches from the inside out.
