EAST OF ENGLAND MEETGuys and Girls, Madame Oz (Emma) and myself (Victoria) have been really thinking and getting some idea’s together about an East meet and obviously pulling it off successfully, would be great to have over ten Calibra’s turn up, so we are just going to throw some idea’s around and see what you guys would think of it. Also it would be mentioned on ClubCalibra.net so we can get as much people come to the meet in the local area.
We were thinking no weekends (because obviously some people work, if not some people use that for their free time, going out, catching up with others etc). So we were thinking the end of a week, so a Friday afternoon/evening would probably work out best, and will have got the working week out of the way. Thinking of these dates in April (when the clocks have been switched and more light into the evening) and which gives us time to sail past Valentines and Mothers Day, towards the Easter Break. So dates would be

Idea’s for the meets are:Pin Mill - Butt and OysterHowever limited parking, pub/restaurant. Great views of the river, a kind of rustic place. No cost for parking, and average priced meals and drinks.
Around 15 minutes from Ipswich.
Manningtree - The Strangers - (other pubs White Heart, Skinners, Crown, Swan Inn)Pub that has camping place behind, so if there is limited parking which there tends to be I could ask the owner about access to the field. Obviously could be a day meet or even an overnight meet. Also near to Mistley/Brantham where there is the haunted river area (Matthew Hopkins). Most haunted visited here, they have a local mini zoo, and malt mill.
Has a lot of great pubs near the waterfront, whether for food or drink. Has darts/snooker/games tables, and food is reasonably priced. Most pubs have games tables, and are child friendly. Around 20 minutes from Ipswich.

Harwich - The MayflowerPub/restaurant and Premier Inn hotel near by if anyone wants to stay in the area.
Also has local ferry’s, boat trips, and beaches. Reasonably priced food and drink. Around 40 minutes from Ipswich.
Orwell - Orwell MeadowsCampsite, so lots of parking etc, not too far from pubs/towns. Has a pool and local amenities. Obviously best for an overnight stay and reasonably priced. Pretty cheap to stay overnight, BBQ’s allowed. Around 30 minutes from Ipswich.
Colchester - Balkerne GatePub/restaurant with plenty of parking, as soon as you hit Colchester from A12-14. Oldest town established in the area, with lots of history, parks, rivers etc. Is part of Brewers Fayre restaurants so average priced food. Opposite a Mitsubishi and near Porsche/Lam/Mini/Land Rover garages. Around 30 minutes from Ipswich.

Places for best scenic pictures = Manningtree and Pin Mill.
Places in the middle of nowhere = Harwich and Orwell.
Places that are just for the day = Pinmill, Manningtree
Places that have hotel/camping = Colchester, Orwell, Harwich.
