Here is my 1996 2.0L X20XEV Ecotec. I joined a few years back but hadn't posted pics. These were taken in Oct 2010 after extensive work. I had the car for 9 years. Up to 09' I had the standard V grille with normal lights, bonnet extension & Mille Miglia Evo 17 inch wheels. A prang caused by road conditions/old man/time gave me an opportunity to make up a refreshed unique look by using pieces of the old bumper & crafting the uprights to curve under the new bonnet (?100 from Vauxhall dealer on eBay). I added new angel eye lights, Wolfrace 18 inch wheels & colour matched parts of the interior. People don't like Lexus lights but they work better with blue or green cars. I blended them in by spraying the rear panel in 3 coats of matt black.
Mods; Reiger kit, Janspeed exhaust, Pipercross Venom induction kit, sports cat, lowered, ICE.

Here. the front area allows a little bit more air in, I added another Calibra grille on top of the original to fill the void but it got loose, broke off & shattered. The slight kink & re-glue of the top attachment piece occured when I backed the car off blocks & they caught the front valance - it ripped the bumper half off.

Here's some interior pics. The colour coded bits were quite easy to remove except for the blower control panel.

very nice.....not shure about the colour codded bits inside tho.

I took this pic a while back. Ceramic blue looks nice when there's partial cloud rather than in full sunlight.

I love the front bumper mod...i would do the same if i had a spare one...how did you go about doing it...?

I cut the original slanted uprights off using a mitre saw taking half an inch inward from the edge, smoothed the cut edges & marked out the match angle on the new bumper. On the new bumper (2nd hand, eBay £40) I cut the crossmember (V grille mounting) off leaving the 3 slam panel attachment points intact. Next I had to make sure that the bits matched up / aligned perfectly, glued them in with araldite & took it to the body shop where they made up the rounded top parts with filler. Once smoothed off & sprayed it took a week.

That looks good, like the kit its very subtle. I will be keeping an eye out for one for my car. Don't want to fork out for a new one as I just know the day after one will come on the market

Thanks for the feedback/likes I appreciate it. I did look at changing the front bumper to something larger with extra holes but it detracted from the look cluttering the front end up - the important factor for me was to keep the lateral line of the kit equal along the length with no drops & to have a seamless join line at the front/rear to give the impression it's part of the whole car, not just added on although I'd reccomend color coding the bump strips as long as it's done right. In fact, my car has had a different side/body panel painted new every few years due to people banging into car (drivers side door, 2 front end hits, O/s front wing/rear boot, bought the car with a 3 foot long metal deep scratch on N/s). The only area not refreshed is the roof, roof spoiler, tail wing & door mirrors. I half expect some debris to fall from above to complete the set :)

I dropped by the Ace Cafe on route to Harlow, the ClubCalibra.com stickers were added a month ago.
