Finally finished my cally
« on: June 09, 2012, 21:37:35 PM »
Well guys after a long year of waiting, working and a lot of swearing the calibra is now finished the first part of its build, there is more to do but until funds allow this is it. Lol

I decided on the Opel / OPC theme to make it a bit different, a lot of the bits had to be sourced in Germany which was a pain in the ass at times!

A big thanx has to go to Angus whose knowledge of German came in handy at times. Lol

But anyway here's some pics, let me know what u think

Keep er lit!

Looks great John, glad to see it all finished up!

Tbh I think it looks spot on with just the front apron, the rest might be too much on this one?

Have to agree with u angus, I think the rest of the kit would be 2 much for the car. I always liked the calibra from all other angles except the front, always thought they couldve done more with the bumper.

Well after 7 months off the road for winter and thoughts of possibly selling due to buying a vectra c daily driver and keeping my astra Gsi turbo as well, I finally returned the cally to the road this weekend and I am so glad I decided not to sell it!

Still puts a smile on my face and gets plenty of attention when out and about! :)

Indeed, the front bumper is lacking... But in saying that, so are the original side skirts...

The full kit would look better, and more complete, but it's your car to do with as you please!! :)

Well done...

Very nice! Very Low!   8)

Forgot to say its no longer as low, I changed the 60mm springs for some 40mm Gmax 1s and fitted gas shocks all round over the winter so it now sits a lot better and is nicer to drive

Bit of an update on the cally, have had a few bits and pieces done this past few months so here goes :)

Thought I'd start the Calibra work off with this

Got stuck into it and here's the result :D

Not bad for a couple of cans of tint spray, wet and dry sandpaper, a can of silver and a can of black paint (thumb up)

Bumper repainted and headlights lightly tinted

Rear plate surround fitted

Apologies for the crap pics but it was dark

Wheels at the paint shop & White LEDs fitted to dials

Wheels back from refurb

As it was the last day of work before Xmas I had some time on my hands and knocked some strut top dust covers up out of billet aluminium on the CNC as I cracked one of the original plastic ones when replacing the front shocks earlier in the year :(

Old and new

Fitted :)

That's it for this year :)

How do you keep doing it mate. This is starting to look better than the black one! First rate work as usual.

What way did you tint the headlights?

I love this car but I can't help but think it needs the rest of the kit...

My thoughts too...

It looks heaps better with the Hella Rear Number Plate Garnish...

I'd prefer either the Black or Black and Blue Gear and Handbrake gaitors, over your plain blue...

Also a Black Engine Oil Cap would be better suited...

Great Work on this car...

Well Done...

You've done a great job on your car, it's so clean & fresh. The blue is deep & the wheels, I have the same 18 inch rims (mine are shod with Avon ZZ3s) but because I bought them from an alloy wheel repairer/maker I've always been unsure as to what make they were. My guess was Wolfrace.
