Calibra DTM Project
« on: May 24, 2015, 09:21:21 AM »
Very nearly finished my DTM restoration, just needs rear arches sorting now. I have the repair panels and its booked in for June to sort them. The XEV was shot so replaced with a LET. Spent around 18 months on this car and many thousands to get it back to its former glory. Totally standard and original except for the engine swap.

Managed to source a genuine Calibra Turbo rear silencer, new old stock from a n Opel dealer in Berlin.

Very nice indeed. What's with the rear arch? The dreaded?
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

Yep, they've both been poorly repaired before. I've got the repair panels to sort em!

Thank you for the comments, I wanted to keep it standard throughout but felt the LET was the way to go with the engine. Hopefully the arches will be done for July.

Very nice :)

let us know how they get on with the arches and if you could say how much they charge you it would be useful, i need both my rear arches doing and have the panels to repair it too.

I do recall several phone calls to help you get this conversion done, and a lot of advice given here to help you.

Thanks for screwing me over on eBay as a thankyou!!!

You must be multipleebayaccountserio usillnesskid then. You're presumably referring to the negative feedback you received on one of your accounts. No need to thank me for it you're welcome.

I haven't hijacked any of your threads venting my opinion on you so I'd ask that you don't hijack mine.

I'm loving the factory fresh look. I'm hoping to get mine looking like that one day...only much redder. Very nice job.

Thanks, you'll get there with it. There was times when I could of set it on fire but just walked away and started again.

Cheers Dan, I've had them a while. I dropped on them last year on eBay. I think I paid around £30 for the pair.
