Calibra CweLET

I took my friends car for a few days until he fixes my f28. Few days later i managed to buy it via telephone
. It's a 1996 C20LET f28 4x4, most parts in factory colour, SFJ body kit (Ive got skirts too). XE inlet camshaft (retarded by half a tooth), Forge BOV, Recaro Sport Topline racing seats. I washed the interior, tinted windows in black so it suits Gargy OEM style (new styling section when someone wants plastic extensions but puts branded body kit instead of fiberglass Gargy stuff). Car is excellent, there was no need to watch it thoroughly. I have washed the interior and put LED in the car key for my friend before i even bought it but in the end in stayed in the city with bunch of calibras
.
I got EDS phase 3 ecu with powerwheel, saab reds and soon i will put it in the car.
Soon i will paint front bumper trims to blue, no more blue CARBONGARGY trims, put white LEDs in speedo and gauges, take black leather interior from my 8v except front seats, put some nice car audio, antiGARGY air filter (factory airbox with stock paper filter)
It has high beam xenon but due to slow ballasts i decided to put h1 Narva 4500k halogen lamps and h3 for foglights. Left headlight is broken so i will replace it with another sonar angel eyes headlight. Bought Lemforder accumulator bulb for 4x4.
Interior got stripped, i will put 2 sets of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1, fits nicely in rear speaker adapters, will make front adapters soon. Special Edition RCA's from Germany
, the usual front door cutting had to be done, now its 165mm hole, european standard
. Zealum 50mm2 power cable went trough nicely.

Haha, thats the idea. There are few worth buying, actually i count only 2 for now, one is not for sale however and i like it the most. LETs became extremely rare and other calibras for sale are 99% sh*t...

Im finishing the interior, i will put white LEDs in the dashboard today.
I have cleaned everything with dry foam
Steering wheel got worn.
Wrapped it in new leather.
Trunk is almost done, i will make amp rack later so wires will be hidden. Tiny kicker rox in every calibra
.
Leather got washed and ready for some cream.
Removed front seats, vacuumed and washed everything with dry foam.
Right headlight got scratched so i polished it, all holders in place too.

It's a good mod but mine has ugly speedo lighting
.
I have finished speedo lighting, need to do BC and gauges. Steering wheel feels great and smaller dunno why
. I am playing with aftermarket gauges, dont like blue version and one was silver the other was white. I drew it as simple as possible (made boost RED over 1 bar for fun) so it looks like factory ones i have. Lighting will be the same as speedo not so proud of that version i got where everything is litt not only numbers n stuff
.
Testing different prints n papers, led still need improving I havent got right one so i will buy it next week.
This is not my picture but i have same factory gauges
It will suit my handmade gauges
.
This is how aftermarket ones are always blue
.
Zealum 50mm2 fitted nicely.

Connected the HU.
I have ugly pic of plastic speakers adapters, so i removed factory cover to take a picture.
I hate this grayish pale seatbelt holders.
So i painted it black.
After painting
Covers got back under the seats.
Fake lowering
Interior is kinda done now onto the T U N I N G .
60mm tophat, one day I might change it with one from TX Autosport so it matches the rest.
63.5mm FMIC pipes from TX Autosport with clamps and some silicon bits.
In the end toyosports FMIC
* Our products are 100 % Brand New
* Bar and Plate Intercooler Corn size: 550mm x 140mm x 65mm, Overall length: 690mm
* 2.5" (64mm) Inlet and Outlet
* Maximum Pressure: 45psi
* Max Horsepower Capacity : 350hp
Im running it on phase 3 at the moment, its awesome!1! Will mount powerwheel soon but im currently getting only 0.3boost or max power so will need to sniff around
.
Hope i will have time to mount FMIC soon, anywayz id have to order more silicone hoses so im not rushing...

Swapped the wheels, I've got better tires on retro ones and green calibra is out of registration for a few days so im gonna drive blue one
.
It runs great trough the snowy woods but OEM GARGY style asks for some 17" winter wheels
Enzo H 17" ET40 with 215/45-17 are ready to be fitted

Washed the wheels
Ex owner gave me air filter box and panel K&N so i washed it. I got bored of that chinese cone filter sucking/blowing air sound, I will block factory BOV soon anywayz.
I've weighted it, its ~80kg lighter then the green one
.
I was planing on puting 12" but since its so light i decided to put 15", its a bit dusty but will kick just fine

Few days of drawing, calculating and planing i managed to assemble it. Hoped id finish it soon but something came up..
Cutting the woofer hole
Preparing port for painting in metallic black.
Drilling holes and gluing t-nuts.
I was in a hurry and cut port hole with electric saw but it wasnt perfect so i filled it with fiberglass.
Assembled it and finished for the night, hoping to continue in the morning when it gets cured.
Next morning i just didnt like it, it was sealed but i was not satisfied
. I redid top part and cut port holes on my friends machine cutter
, it took 2 more days but now its perfect!
Added some bracings, every part is glued and screwed, inside i sealed it with transparent silicone.
Fits perfectly, it has 160liters with ports, speaker and bracings, tuned to 33hz since i dont do SPL. Its loud as hell, not low and precise as IDmax but much louder
.
Just testing this tiny rockford and it sounds amazing, amps will not be placed like this, this is only for testing. I need to finish the looks, every wire will be hidden when i finish amp rack.
BUTTTT in the meantime something POPPED UP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyTsOawqAdY
I never test max speed. I was on a highway racing with my friend, pushed it all the way to 7500rpm in every gear. In 5th gear on 230+ i changed to 6th gear and she wasnt speeding anymore
. I slowed down heard that engine sounds bad and drove for few more kilometers, stopped at a nearest parking and realized she is gone
. I will remove head soon and see whats up
. She has 240k km on the clock, my friend never did the engine or a turbo, it was time anyway...

Last week she went to visit ex owner.
Since engine work is going very slowly, I've had to spend some of its budget!
8400 from 2003 was temporary solution, now its 2004
, color display, DSP with TA etc...

I have decided to visit my friend and help him assemble my car. Traveled 250 kilometers via bus carrying turbo in my bag
. So i was not going back without my car
Day one
Parking the car in the garage, enjoying recaro seats and pumping lumbar support
. Fitting standard ecu and putting back the glove box. Changing coolant pipe with metal one.
His godfather came later to finish the engine, he is the one who did the full rebuild, busy man with a lot of knowledge. I was washing the parts while they checked the transfer box and changed the viscous coupling, other bits were fine.
Mounting the txb, oil sump and washing oil mesh.
Putting the engine in, mounting steering fluid pump and AC compressor for like 3 times back n forth because of the belt n other stuff we forgot
.
Day two
Putting back the steering pump, ac comp, tensioner and finally the belt. Connecting hoses, wiring loom and stuff.
Engine started after about 3 seconds
we've had to change 1 fuel hose. Engine runs perfect, all the tappets became quiet after about 15mins. Filled and bled the steering system and finished other bits. Everything works fine, engine runs really great. Fuel pressure regulator is standard so as injectors and everything for now. Engine is standard, third cyl has a sleeve others were fine by measurement, changed third piston, rings and cr bearings. Drove the car back home that night.
Finally together
When i get time ill clean it thoroughly, no rush.
Big thanks to my friend and his godfather for doing amazing job on assembling the engine. They were very lazy, for almost 2 years they were working maybe 7days including 2 with me just to put the engine back in

Decided to paint door handles and put some "music" in - my way
[/quote]
Rear tweeters and painted handles
Changed to oem wheels, painted front bumper trim
got decibel number plates, had to finish my 2year old trunk setup
One gauge "glass" was broken so i made new ones spherical and ultra glossy
I will put in bigger amp for my compo systems instead of this tiny on the right and then i can finish upper cover as planed long time ago
New fuel hoses, filled the ac but after one day gas came out, compressor is leaking
Shirts are ready for Serbian Calibra Day. In the meantime ive bought clutch cable but it wont fit, will fit it on brown cali, ordered new type from Germany. Removed AC compressor will fit new seals and put it back tomorrow and we're ready for teh summer

Repaired AC compressor, no more leaks for about 2 months, havent got time to write earlier
Changed all the fluids
Ordered otto-modell 1/18 magnetic blue same as mine. Its may 2017 model made in 1250pcs
Old school retro, Ive tried pioneer ipod adapter and its great, nice sound since its IP-bus controlled input. Digged out my old steering wheel remote just for fun like in old times
More powder coating and some painting.
Got new clutch cable from germany, new model, oiled with silicone oil as per instructions
Trunk is progressing nicely and slowely. Lots of measuring, drawing, CNC cutting. Its hard to draw it since trunk shape is challenging.
And i made myself an monument hahah
I have to sand the edges, letters etc. Laser cut some plexiglass and I line it with the board by forcing it in
Some under bonnet painting
One pic of calibra meet SM serbia
Polished forge blow off

Thanks Will!
Front bumper was cracked so I've swapped it with the green one
, fitted FMIC without pipes for now and polished whole car.
Old bumper used for short time. Got 55w xenon h1 low beam
Polished remus, spent about 5 hours polishing
, minor changes to my "tomb" in the trunk haha will put some LEDs when I get time
Took out center gauges so I can use middle vents, traveled a lot and AC works good.
New batter terminal and 50mm2 + for the alternator.
TXB piston seal has failed, not know cause
Since im 2WD for now, I might lower it a bit, I've bought new 17" wheels and p zero nero 215/40 tires, when i get time I'll fix txb and probably get a camber kit if i decide to lower it.
And few pics from vacation

Hybrid turbo and walbro 255lph
Last summer I've bougt this modifield TXB
A month ago I've managed to put it on the car, it works just fine, now pressure plate seal CANNOT FAIL
:
I have found these 17" used wheels, ordered 'em immediately, when package arrived i realized wheels are chinese so I've returned it. Learned there are no original 5x110 17" just 18" so i got horny and got 18s
Got new nankang ns2 ultra sport 215/35R18
PK Tuning show #2 august 2018
Finally I've had to break seal's on my oldschool amp to do minor soldering, now both amps are open, too bad one PCB is green not blue like the other
So far so good, walbro still sleeps under my desk
, today I've put SAAB Reds

Hey, i was thinking about fuel pressure we talked about, i might have been running 4.0bar, anywayz i have melted 3rd piston but with standard IC and standard fuel pump.
Ive checked eds site and it states 4.5bar for standard yellows, you might be overfueling
. Quote from the eds site:
"Phase3 The fuel pressure must be raised at original injectors to 4.50 bar. Alternatively, 470ccm fuel injectors with 3.00 bar fuel pressure can be used."

Yes , I know but ifif the fuel pressure is 4.5 bar=22% more fuel for normal 3bar injectors and 360cc saab red with 4.5 bar is equal to 440cc injectors on 3 bar

Hehe, been there... Look what I've bought earlier today, TOTALLY UNPLANNED...
Anywayz, how was your fuelling? Fuel pump? Often pump gets less voltage so u have to make new wiring especially on old types where pump is outside... And we never do AFR check we just set pressure n injectors and drive full boost, right
btw im sorry bout melting ):
