Having porblems again with limp mode  >:(
It was a intermittant problem but now it seems to be in it all the time. The engine management light is not on though!  ???
Limits revs at 4500 and down on power all through the range.
Does anybody have any suggestions? No Idea what to try.

Ok so did the paperclip test and came up 0340 so looks like camshaft sensor.
Ive ordered one now so hopefully this will solve my problem.

The magic of paperclips saves the day. Glad to see it working now.

Thanks chargerbandit.
I also had a fiddle with some LED strip lights i bought for the footwells.

They are warm white so don't look too aftermarket. Lovely and inviting on a dark night   :)

Hi, how is your door card now, did it hold? Where did u buy ur Cam Sensor from? And where did u supply the power from for the footwell lights?

The door card has held so far...

I bought the cam sensor from ebay, it was one of the cheapest I found and said it was unbranded aftermarket but when it came it was actually Siemens VDO Made in Germany like the OEM WIN  :D

As for the footwell lights if you look behind the kick panels and pull out the bit of foam you can find the wire going to the door open button. I wired the negative to this and the positive to permanent live, they come on and off with the doors and if you pull the headlight switch out but don't stay on with the delay.

tristandimond, I've been reading the thread and I am loving the car and what you've done. Great job  :)

I'm having the same problem with the door card so your solution is interesting. And kudos for fitting the interior, the cream leather really lifts the car! After seeing your car and others on here, I really need to love my car again and find a solution to the minor problems I'm having with my SE6.

But I'm not mechanically minded and garages don't like to work on twenty year old cars!
Drives: an original SE6 auto, 81,000 miles (approx) and still going strong......(but some work is needed!). Now my second car.

Thanks Will!

And yes loving the interior. Hopefully i'll find some better front seats soon as these are a bit worn.

And as for being mechanically minded, you don't need to be, get yourself a good manual and get stuck in! These old vauxhalls are some of the easiest cars to work on. If you do hit problems theres plenty of peeps on here ready to give help.  ;)

Update: On Tuesday I got another full cream interior with better condition front seats so will be fitting these soon.
Didn't realize the seats in the Calibra are Recaro.  8)
Will post some pics when I get a moment.
