Welcome to the site mate. There's defo lots of members from scotland here, not sure how many near you, but am sure there will be some.

There's a convoy going from Scotland to the annual Club Cally meet down in Billing in June if you're interested ;).

Rob, If your EML light has came on it has probably stored a fault. You can do the paperclip test.. which will reveal the code and tell you what has went wrong.. If it's intermittent.. it's maybe a dodgy wire to a sensor that's got wet or something silly.

Having probs with car....my EML light (the pic of engine with lightening bolt)came on and on acceleration was struggling....today its 100 times worse!!! got real bad burning smell, yet all my fluids are fine, but i've lost power, its spluttering upto 40mph, and when revving engine its sounding like when you nearly out of fuel- coughing and almost backfiring!!!!!

You really need to do the paperclip test mate.. and see what fault is causing the light to come on... Maybe camshaft sensor or something.

Try not to drive the car until you have identified the cause, otherwise you could damage something that isn't yet a problem and make diagnosing the problem more difficult because one fault has caused something else.
