US Region needed, as we can now import them :)
« on: March 27, 2020, 21:34:34 PM »
Thank you very much, for letting me join your club. I am a Opel owner from the US and being my Calibra will be one of 4 not much of a club here. I am not sure if Valentin mentioned but I plan on picking up my Calibra in Poland in September and driving thru to Southampton, UK (Via the Ferry from Caen, FR to Portsmouth) to ship to the US October 2nd.

Long story, but I have been into Opels for a long time and currently build CIH motors in the US for our Manta A and Opel GTs. I own a 1971 US Spec Opel Kadett B, a 1970 Opel GT, and a 1973 Manta A and a 1992 Opel Senator CD. Anyway, I have wanted a Calibra since the day I first saw a picture.. so given the US importation rules, it has taken me 25 years to find a good one and import it.

My good friend and business partner in Poland, Rav Tusien, helped me find the car, it is a 2.5L V6, with Irmscher suspension, and 111,000 KM on the speedo. He also helps me find parts and engines to import to the US. Being he is an Opel specialist (, he is also helping me make sure the Calibra is in Top condition. The Transmission is out to get rebuilt, new motor mounts, timing chain is getting replaced, as are the CV Joints, A/C Compressor, the Alternator and the Radiator, and most anything else it would need maintenance wise.

Mine as far as I know is one of 4 maybe 8 in the US. There is the Red one you probably all have seen at Carlisle, PA Import show.. it has
a special wrap on it... There is a Green one in TX, and Red one in Chicago, and told possible one in the Los Angeles and Norfolk, VA areas. So maybe its time to start a US Region on this forum :)
