Depends what age you're looking at, I've had a few of them as company cars and the last ones (2003ish) were great, they drive well and are nicely specced up  8) Anything earlier than around a W reg I would avoid, and don't get a petrol one, unless its a 3.2 V6...

Had a L reg LWb for a while .. Do yourself a favor .. Don't get a 2.3d
Its a Smokey slug.
Performance was OK off road but could get a little scary .. handling on the road was to put it mildly Rubbish.
However once it was put into 4wd it could properly pull a house just don't expect it to move to fast when its doing it.
If your going to get one don't get the one i did . it needs a big engine to move it at any velocity.

You don't need a Frontera to tow. An Omega or Vectra would be more practical

Doesnt the weight / MAM of the towing vehicle have to weigh the total of what you are pulling? or something like that.  I know what i said is wrong but there is some kind of rule like that.  Im just thinking that frontera's arent that heavy and they wouldn't equal the weight of a trailer + a calibra.

yeah i thought so, so the weight of the car needs to equal the combined weight of a calibra + a trailor, so you are going to need a heavy frontera.

yeh your right on the towing, you have to minus the weight of what your towing from the vehicle gross weight, so for example the cally can only tow 1250KG if you have a trailer weighing 750KG, but the frontera can tow 2800KG. however due to getting some speeding points and still being 18 i may now not be able to afford the insurance on the frontera anyway, but hey thats my fault, cheers for the advice, i may just wack a tow bar on the back of the cally and hate myself everytime i see it:D
