Government Axe
« on: July 29, 2017, 01:24:26 AM »
Hi everyone

I know banning petrol and diesel cars is a long way off but heading our way nonetheless  >:(

I wonder what will happen to car enthusiasts like ourselves...????? How are those drivers going to tow there Caravans with a glorified MILK FLOAT. ;D

The problems will be endless......god forbid.

There is talk of a Toll Road for the worst polluters........Another foookin government stealth tax in the name of "Tree Huggers".

Yes I agree that Global Warming is happening but I don't buy into the idea that mankind can make any difference to what has been going on for thousands of years.

In Russia under the Ice and permafrost....scientists found evidence of lush green vegetation........which proves that the planet in that region had once been Green, Fertile.....and Warmer.......I believe this has been a continuous periodic change that we have little control over.

As a self confessed Petrol Head....I just wish This government plan was just a bad dream :-\

What are your thoughts..............Ca n I see a Future massive protest ::) ::)

Food for thought.........enjoy your pride and joy.........and don't have nightmares.

Dread the future!!!
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

My old Scalextric may hold the answer. A few hundred volts down the road would also deter jaywalkers!  :)

And there I was thinking that you guys finally came to your senses by voting to get out of the EU and then your govt came up with that chestnut of banning petrol and diesel cars!
Common sense is becoming scarce these days.
It's ok though we're no better. We sell so much gas to other countries that we don't have enough left for ourselves and what we do have is more expensive than what our overseas customers pay!

Well if I was remotely good with a spanner, I'd swap out a Calibra drive train and replace it with a Vauxhall Ampera / Chevrolet Volt drivetrain. That would keep everyone happy! An onboard power station (petrol engine) providing power to a generator which tops up the batteries which provide power to the electric motor(s) that drive(s) the wheels. Sorted.

It can be called........a CalEbra  :)
Drives: an original SE6 auto, 81,000 miles (approx) and still going strong......(but some work is needed!). Now my second car.
