re Hamilton - Till the next best driver comes along. All this hype about one driver. The media over play him.

with regards to F1 being in a poll on a "CAR" forum, it is always likely to have more F1 fans than F1 haters, maybe if you put the same poll up on a football forum you might have a different outcome ;) Maybe a poll on what do you prefer - footy or F1 ? you may get a more conclusive poll.

But that's the point THIS IS A CAR FORUM, where according to you "it is always likely to have more F1 fans than F1 haters".  So what is wrong with allowing those of us who are interested in F1 to discuss it on a CAR FORUM?  Putting the same poll on a football forum wouldn't make the poll any more conclusive, merely more biased in the other direction.

Quote
The football players only get paid as much as the fans are willing to pay to see them.

When was the last time the fans had any influence on how much footballers get paid.  Football club incomes aren't dependent on attendances, that represents a tiny fraction of the income.  They are dependent on sponsorships, owners and tv revenues.

Quote
If people could be bothered to turn up to F1 (bearing in mind that there are less F1 races in a season than footy matches) then Hamilcock would get paid alot more.

When was the last time a football match had an attendance of 120,000, or even 150,000 as you get at some of the GPs?  I don't think that there is a football stadium in the world big enough.

Quote
The atmosphere in a football stadium is out of this world, all the drama of watching your team winning one minute, losing the next, the tactics of the managers etc.. i cant say listening to a high pitched engine noise whizzing past once every few minutes really does it for me.

Have you ever been to a motor race, let alone an F1 GP?  The atmosphere is every bit as electric as it is in a football stadium.  Watching 'your' driver or team leading a race one moment, then losing it the next, the strategy and tactics of the team managers and engineers as they try to eke every last mph out of a car being driven on the edge.  The 'high pitched noise' is a penalty of F1, not why you go to watch it, but the Doppler effect as a fast car approaches and passes is awesome.  Of course, if you don't understand all that, then it will "never do it for you" - just as American football is incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't know the rules.

Quote
If F1 was all about driving skill and not sponsors, ass kissing, money, dumb rules and biased decisions then i might have more time for it but as it stands, the sport should just come to an end.

And football is not about sponsors, ass kissing, money, dumb rules and dodgy umpiring decisions..?  ROFLMAO

What is Hamilton fever ? i think i may have it ? are the symptoms wanting to stab yourself and drink battery acid rather than see him on TV ? if so whats the cure ? probably counting the blades of grass in your garden ;D

Barcelona's nou camp holds 118,000
the maracana in rio holds 155,000

in england man utd get 67,000 every home game.
how often are the gp's? football is obviously much more popular so there's no argument there.

I agree money is spoiling football but clubs are still making money (not all I admit) So I imagine things will carry on as they are.

I have been silverstone a couple of times and for me it is nowhere near as good an atmosphere as a football match.

Shifty started it! I know he's mental ;D but there is a long way between that and MH problems ;)

Professionally speaking I do tend to call a spade a spade so to speak, can't be doing with all the pc crap :) and I get good outcomes as a result too, even if I do say so myself :D

Buck Passer, anayway, you deserve to have a night off with the jibbing you have been getting. You had a long day yesterday, and trust you have had a good one one today, and a relaxing evening. I will away and put my razors away in the bag again (and is was looking forward to a shave, beard itches). Take care................and there is always tomorrow aaaahhhhhhhhahhhhhhhhhah hhhhhhhh as that famous guy once laughed.

Not a dig at Hamilton for once but its not really difficult to get an MBE these days. Because the uk is sh*t at sport in general, MBE's are awarded for mediocrity to be honest. Dame kelly holmes was a f*ckin useless athlete for 99% of her career then wins one race and gets made a "dame" ?!! If you want a title easily in the UK, just buy 1 square foot of land on a manor somewhere for £25-£30 and you gain the title of "Lord" without breaking into a sweat ;D

^^^That Lordship thing i just mentioned is genuine by the way ;)
