Coping with colds?

Any tips?

I got a sore throat and blocked nose/sinus last night as I was falling asleep. I did meet Baz / Blue Manta for a pint last night so it might be the dreaded Cockney Flu  :(

6 paracetamol later and several pints of water and it definitely feels like I'm winning this battle  ;D Any good tips/pointers?

Well i'm the proud owner of swine flu as we speak so stop being a p*ssy!

I don't get what all the hype was about personally, I was expecting a visit to intensive care at least but alas i'm sitting here talking to you muppets :(


Actually here is a test of manhood, if any of you get it and have to take the Tamiflu crap, cut the capsule open and pour it onto your tongue and leave it 10 seconds.

Anything less is fail.

liquorish works wonders for sore throats, ate loads last Christmas when i Had a cold seemed to shift the cold faster as well ;D or that could have been the drink as well lol :P

Honey and Glycerine cough mixture from a supermarket for your throat, Contac 500 cold caps and dispersible asprin for the sinus pain as well as general aches- lowers a high temp too, olbas oil to clear your nose, a "hay fever nasal spray" like beconase to keep your nose "open". I find a big dose of zinc helps too.

Some people say Vit C works though it has been proven otherwise. I found a very large dose taken at the very start of the cold/ flu helps.

Inhale steam with menthol in.

DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS.

Avoid dairy products, milk and cheese are supposed to produce more snot.

Eat spicy food, curries clears the sinuses and raise your temp. The endorphins released will help you feel better too.

Whisky with a dash of honey if you're not taking meds. Don't use single malts though, it'll be a waste.
