P reg V6 very happy new owner
« on: February 28, 2018, 07:48:04 AM »
Hiya all. So my Vauxhall addiction has progressed to a Calibra V6, I already own 7 Vauxhalls so another one was rather inevitable !
Offered locally for free was a P reg 2.5 V6, it has been off the road for 8 months or so and was heading to the scrappy if nobody took it, so I am now the proud owner.
I just have to wait for the local garage to tow it the 40 ish miles back and then work can begin. I know it has a fuel leak, more than likely pipes going into the top of the tank, battery is flat, rear exhaust is missing, brakes need an overhaul, rear bushes need replacing, dent on drivers front wing, some bits of trim missing ( just ordered the missing jacking point covers ) it has signs of having a body kit fitted at some point, still has roof and boot spoiler fitted.
I will update as and when I can.
Hope you all have a great day.
Kerry B

A free V6! Can't complain at that! There's only about 90 V6 Manuals left on the road, so absolutely worth saving. Do you have any pictures? :)

Hi and welcome! :) I have had a V6 auto (issues with my left leg) for a number of years although 18 months ago it was relegated to driveway ornament when I holed a piston. Free V6 not bad at all. Mine now has a s/h engine and is in occasional use. Good luck with the project and do pop up a few photos when you get the chance...

Happy days! My V6 is my daily and has been for 11 years this June! I LOVE it! Such a good all-rounder.
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

Thanks for the welcomes. Mine is an auto not the manual so not sure how many of those there are left.
I will keep you all updated as and when I get the chance.

Oh, my daily driver is a 2003 Vectra 3.2 V6 auto, so happy to have another V6.

When I tied to work it out a few years ago I decided there were probably less than 20 V6  autos on the road and rather more on SORN...
