Hi, Have you removed the 2 I think 19mm bolts top of the bell housing, hidden behind rad return hose.
Just a thought.

Hi, When I removed my gearbox I used an engine support bar to support the engine , removed the sub frame and dropped the gearbox out the bottom of the engine bay, making sure that the car is high enough off the ground. Not to bad dropping down, but a pain to lift back, my need two of you to lift. You may find getting the left hand driveshaft a pain to get out of the gearbox, on mine after trying everything I had to remove the plate on the bottom of the gearbox and use a screwdriver on the end of the shaft and lever it  from the differential gear. Sounds worse than it is, you will need a new gasket. Just a thought, if you have the engine that has NOT got a pot type flywheel there's no need to drop the box you pull a shaft out the back of the box, however I have never done this maybe someone on here can help.
