New SE6 owner
« on: March 20, 2018, 12:08:13 PM »
Hi everyone!

Recently purchased a lovely SE6 which I am due to collect this Sunday. I will post pictures when I have some.
I'm new to Vauxhalls, but not to classic car ownership so i'm looking forward to learning my way around the Calibra.

My current daily (being replaced by the Calibra) is a '92 Toyota MR2, and my long term project is a '74 Saab 95!

Pleased to meet you all

Hi and welcome! Looking forward to seeing some pictures. A friend did a long term rebuild of a Saab - thirty years! The rearward facing seats are scary to sit in when you see the whites of the eyes of the driver behind!

Thanks for the welcome all. I just picked up the car and here are the promised photos attached!

Honestly chuffed to bits, but like with any car of this age, there are some bits and pieces to look at that I've identified so far:

Rear arches had 20 years worth of country road crud under the rear arches, which has unfortunately taken its toll on the leading lip of the rear arches. Grind back and stonechip job there.

Alloy wheels need Refurb

Radio cassette not working. (Anyone have a Blaunpunkt CD300 radio?)

Minor oil leak, seem to be coming from a breather hose.

I'll create a thread at some point to follow up on anything I end up doing to the car. Hopefully won't be too much!

Welcome to Calibra ownership! Nice SE6 and very low miles there  :)

These are getting rare now, looks like only 45 or so left out of 478 made !!
