This is a guide for the Sytec/FSE distributed Walbro in-tank pump for the Calibra/Cav Turbo.
FSE Part No.
ITP052 Here's what you should get in your kit.
- Pump
- Wiring harness
- Sock filter
- Short length of hose
- x2 jubilee clips
- A signed picture of Mr C's girlfriend spreading her butt cheeks

First off remove your fuel tank from the car. This is done by undoing the fuel filler neck (x2 jubilees), fuel lines (x2), wiring plug and x4 13mm bolts holding the tank straps on.
Next you need to get a brush of some kind, or jetwash and clean the top of the fuel tank. This is to prevent any dust getting into the tank when you're working on it.
Next undo the large plastic collar on the top of the fuel tank. This is rarely do-able by hand, so get a hammer and chisel and knock it round anti-clockwise to release. Lift the collar off, and again blow away any dust or rust that has come loose. If the tank-top is holed, weld it up or replace it. Don't be tight.
The fuel pump, basket, wiring and lines will now lift out.

Next you lay it out on a clean surface. Unplug the wiring from the pump. Remove the fuel hose from the standard pump.

The standard pump will now slide out. Replace it with the Walbro pump. I chose to re-use the standard fuel hose as it was longer than the sytec supplied one and seemed in very good condition.
Clip the pump into the holder.
Add the sock-filter on the foot of the pump, where the red plastic cap was

Connect the Walbro wiring to the standard wiring. Red to red (+), black to blue (-).
Then tidy it all up, lower the cradle and pump down into the tank till they clip in, connect the pump hose to the tank lid and you're done.

Make a note of which hose goes to which sprout on top of the tank, so you can obviously connect the correct fuel line to the correct sprout.

Tighten the collar back up and you're now fully pimped.
