Sometimes it's fun to have a good scare! Recommend horror movies, scary gifs/pics etc.

Ppl feel free to contribute - there'll be nothing 'edgy'/a-moral/illegal but mods do mod anything too extreme. Goes without saying but not posting gore etc...

...having said that, sweet dreams! ;)

Just a few of the movies I've seen that did the trick. I doubt anything in the following list will make anyone sleep with the light on, but they do have a good scare or two:

The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Strong exorcism themes (unsurprisingly.)

Shutter (original.) Thai horror film - ghost pursues a young man.
Shutter (2004) - Official Trailer

Insidious. Demons torment child/family. MOST people hate it but I liked it.

Mothman Prophecies. Based on a true story in much the same way sausages are based on pigs. Probably the least 'scary' but the most odd/creepy for sure. My favourite horror movie.

Scary games also. Anyone? No? Oh well...

Silent Hill. Granddaddy of all scary games. Think Jacob's Ladder (which incidentally is a great film.) Back in '98 we thought Resident Evil was scary gaming. Then this came out... Wow. Dated as hell now but the distance it goes with some themes... Double wow. Guy looks for daughter in haunted resort town.

Silent Hill 2. Truly rare a sequel is every bit as good as the first. Triple wow. Different guy gets a letter from his dead wife bringing him to the town.

Outlast. Horrendous horror/jumps/gore/about everything offensive and terrible. Not even going to link that. Buy it, headphones on, lights off, trousers full. Extremely unsettling. Journalist explores sinister asylum.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Honorable mention. Good indie game scares. Pre-1900 guy wakes up in not-so abandoned castle and hides in the dark from monsters.

Well, that's about all. Bit bored tonight...

Silent Hill is a fantastic game. Incredibly atmospheric and makes you jump when you least expect it. Kinda liked the film too.

I know right? I remember buying it on release weekend for about £50. Life changed that weekend. There was just NOTHING like it before. I think history will remember it as a turning point in immersive gaming, and hopefully Silent Hill 2 along with it. The series went downhill after that a bit, though 3 was good - definitely the most gruesome especially towards the end. 4 could have been EPIC - the start/Walter etc were great but those ghosts... just kinda ruined it. AND MY WORD THE SOUNDTRACKS!! ALL of those were amazing, though Downpour less so.

Kinda liked the film too.

Post reported.
