Needing inspiration for the colour of the interior accents
« on: June 03, 2008, 15:11:34 PM »
People spray certain panels and have certain gear coloured gaiters etc.
I was just wondering if people had pictures of theirs or others, in different colours of what they sprayed or changed, just so we can get an idea of what looks good.

I'll be painting the interior posts white, and maybe some of the dash too, but it'll be a little while, (for the dash, posts done by the 17th ;)) I've also got creamy white gaiters to go in.

I'll get some pictures up soon :)

Sounds nice in white, that's what I'd like to see it as, at the minute we have a smoke grey cally, and the interior has all red lights and red/black gaiters, but looking to upgrade the rest of it. White seems to be the better colour for making it look more modern!

Why not go cream? I think it looks good - here is a pic of my old 16 valve where i creamed over the dash!

It looks groovy, is white or cream then?
I'd like an ice white.

Complaints, how difficult was it to cream your dash? .. did you use a special mix? .. did you get a hand?! ;) ;) ;)

Seriously though, it looks spot on, though mine will be white - ice white 8)

Once i got the bits out it was fairly easy. Rubbed down the bits with wet and dry until they were all lightly scored (so the paint stuck to them properly) and then srayed them. Light dusty coat first & second, then nice wet coverings - not too much though otherwsise you will get running. I just used standard car spray in a can.
I also sprayed the whole of that car with aerosol cans. I will chuck a pic on of that if you want.

In my old XR2, i took the whole dash out and that went silver and cream, the door cards went silver too.

Very impressive, makes me almost think there is a chance in hell I can spray my rust patches and not have them look stupid.. though I'm not putting my life on it..

I'd love to do the dash bits too! .. working on it, as I said 8)

Why should it look over the top? 'Tis as bright as white and if it suits the interior, go for it :)

not a fan myself of painting the dash but if you do the key is prep work on the plastics or they will look sh*t
