Title: Calibra Radio Wiring - Need some help!
Post by: sstorana on February 10, 2020, 08:54:24 AM
Hi guys,

Just about to do a new install of an aftermarket radio and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a few of the wires?

The ones that I am having trouble with working out are;

Brown (BD) - 0.75          ???
Grey/ Green (GRGN) - 0.75   ???
Blue/ Red (BLRT) - 0.75      ???

The 0.75 is the guage of the wire.

Any help would be appreciated!

cheers
Mick

Hi there

Plain Brown (BR) with no stripe if that’s the one you meant is Earth though it’s normally 2.5 not .75
Grey/green is illumination, switched live when the sidelights or beam are on
Blue/red is fed from the instrument cluster, derived from the speedo, carrying the speed data which IIRC is used by the onboard computer, if you have one

Hope that helps
Andrew
