REAR COIL SPRING CALIBRA 4x4 TURBO
« on: March 24, 2016, 17:13:10 PM »
Anybody know where I can reliably source above. I have just had a bad experience with MisterAuto website. They supplied a KYB spring which they said was compatible, looked the part and fitted OK, but not up to the job. Obviously not strong enough, knocks at the slightest bump in the road. Sounds like I've kidnapped someone and their trying to get out the boot with a hammer!
I've looked at several other on-line sites with lots of alternative including Spidan/Sachs brands but none have it in stock. Some talk about shipping from the Far East (Assuming China) with a month for delivery. Car undrivable in current condition. Is it really such a difficult part to source. I've just read the post from Alan S looking for a front coil spring. What is one to do!. Anybody help?

Hi

I have tried spring loaded but no joy.  They where very helpful

BigDaz have come to my rescue with a spare set for my v6

I found a number is web supplier stated that their springs would fit v6
 Not the case

I have been informed that the turbo springs are 20mm lower as with the v6

In my frantic search for my fronts I referred to the turbo fitment , finding these also not available
You could try a company in Romford called VAUXCENTRE. 01708384720. They my be able to help

Hope you get sorted

Was their issue with standard, lowered or V6 springs in general? I sourced my replacement springs from them last October and it would be worrying if they are becoming another Calibra part that is as rare as hens' teeth!  :(

Hi zodiac 245 & Alan
I tried spring loaded, very helpful but no joy. I have subsequently ordered a spring from Buycarparts.co.uk but am getting a bad feeling. Website said ready for immediate despatch and five days later no despatch. I will harassing them today, but not too hopeful.
Doing battle with Misterauto over refund on spring they supplied "as not fit for purpose".
It seems to be getting harder and harder to source parts. Last MOT car was failed on a rear number plate, only took hours of searching and 2 weeks to find part. I think you really have to love your Calibra.

Are you on Facebook Pete?
Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

I had a number of issues sourcing parts last year and Vauxhall's attitude to models more than ten years old does not help! Mine is my daily drive but I do wonder how much longer this will be viable? If I end up getting another daily driver either my Callie, my Escort or my Zodiac (not really an option) will have to go...  :(
