Is the light solid? Flashing? Have you tried the paperclip test to see what codes come up?
Warned and muted for insulting a precious moderator. Totally forgetting the continious slagging off I get from the same people.

Double standards. What a joke

The garage plugged it in to the computer code 19 rpm sensor, so replaced but still showing replaced the sensor three times and code 71 same again sensor replaced.

the sensor might be okay, maybe the crank is damaged where it reads the rpm from :s either that or the ecu maybe? i would try the paperclip test anyway to see if there are any more codes that you get.

was the engine running whilst the reader was plugged in? this code will always show with the engine switched off.

Engine was running - I really do like the car, but can't wait to see the back of it now!

Hard to start and running rough? Does sound like the crank sensor but if its been replaced then check the cabling from the crank sensor connector by the header tank down to the ECU. Like many cables under the bonnet, this one flexes so can eventually break a wire.
I had a wire break in that cable but it wasn't a clean break so it caused an intermittent fault and was a pig to locate.
I suppose that its also possible that it could even be a duff contact in the socket itself?
I want the glove compartment filled with Mars bars, Wine Gums, and Jelly Babies ..... and Ham sandwiches, the sort that come in cellophane packets, and sausage rolls .... but no potato crisps, they interfere with transmission

the sensor wire can get burned by the exhaust manifold causing all sorts of problems.

why cant you wait to see the back of it?

also check all the earths.  the crank sensor earths to the block using the bolt that fastens it to the block.  if there is paint or sh*t between it and its not a good contact then it wont be a clean signal.

The cable I'm referring to is part of the car's wiring loom so is not a normal service part like the sensor and it's integral cable. The loom cabling down to the ECU can flex and break losing your crank sensor signal and causing the fault code.

If you are still getting the fault code for the crank sensor then it is unlikely to be a fuelling problem.

Think the passenger airbay was an option at the time where it was standard on the V6's and Turbo's. Same with the Air Con I think!
