Well some people even work weekends?  I thought a Friday it's the end to the week, usually people leave early on Friday's, as may have done extra time during the week somehow. Usually people's afternoons/evenings are free. It will be light in May time so even if anyone finishes at 5-6 it will be light for photo's!

Then leave work early?!

Only reason we are doing a Friday as because alot of people work weekends too and that's when people usually go and chill out with family or friends.

Colchester is more lively to admit, plenty of petrol stations, and places. Harwich is in the middle of nowhere really, a bit dead, only good thing about it is the backroads there have great scenery for shots!

Can you finish at like lunchtime, like make the hours up another day?

It doesn't matter if not, are any other weekdays best for you?

Colchester seems to be the best and most central place for everyone (even those interested on .net).

Could a moderator change the title of the post to:

ESSEX (Colchester) Meet MAY '09.

Thanks for that, just considering Sat/Sun afternoons, anyone got any dates in mind?

I'd be inclined to avoid the May and Spring Bank Holiday w/es - partly because everywhere is likely to be busy and partly because some members may have other things planned for that week.  That suggests either the w/e of 9/10, or the 16/17 May for the East of England meet in Colchester (unless anyone knows whether either of those clashes with anything else, like the Cup Final).

Right I think it's better if we make it a Saturday or Sunday as everyone can't make Friday's (well it seems some can't).
So I'll just have to change my work commitments for a weekend off or something.

Following Saturday's are:
7th,14th, 21st and 28th. Unless you think Sunday's would be best.

I was thinking from around 2-3pm?

I thought that you'd switched to a May meeting...
According to my calender, Saturdays in May 2009 are: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th.

If you're still planning to meet in April, Saturdays are: 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th (what calendar are you using?).

Many people have other commitments on Saturdays (sports events, shopping etc.)  In the past, more people appear to be available on Sundays, but if you've got more people who can make Saturday, by all means choose a Saturday.

Sorry mistake I put in March on my computer calender and that's how the dates came up instead of May.

So your dates that you put down are correct, and people should choose from the Saturday/Sunday's.

Like I said, you are probably best avoiding the Bank Holiday w/es, because people tend to have other commitments and the w/es at either end of the Spring Bank Holiday week.  That leaves Saturday 9th or 16th, or Sunday 10th or 17th.  When is the Cup Final?

I have no idea when the cup final is, perhaps someone can post (as they would be interested, unlike myself sometimes).

So dates so far either

Saturday 9th, 16th
Sunday 10th 17th

Think we need a new poll. Can the one on this page be updated?!

FA Cup Final is late this year, on Saturday 30th May, so that is probably a day to avoid.

Probably easier to start a new one and post a link to it on this thread.

I think Sunday's will be better, because as you say some people do things on their Saturday's off like have sport commitments or shopping trips/visit family/friends etc.
