The only problem with the Butt at weekends, once the weather starts to improve, is parking.  The pub car park gets packed and the road down to the hard is very narrow and lined with 'yachties' cars.  You end up having to park in a car park half way up the hill - and even then, only if you are lucky!  At low tide you used to be able to park on the hard, but don't leave the cars there!

Yeah parking is very limited, and it is a lovely place to go.

If not I have a few other suggestions.

as [email protected] said, there's not great parking at the the butt so as nice it would be, probably not best for a weekend meet. if we're looking at weekends, with warmer weather, how about an overnighter at orwell meadows, then perhaps a ride down to pin mill for a meal? wouldn't be a bad little run, over the bridge, and then along the river?

It's best not to give phone numbers in open forum.  If you want someone to have your number, PM them.

Me and vix were talking today and both agree that a weekday meet at the butt is probably the best option... i know people want the weekend but it's just not feasable at that pub and it really is such a lovely meet... if no-one else fancies it, i think me n vix will just have our own meet haha

They don't have to be mutually exclusive.  You can organise a mid-week meet @ The Butt for an evening when the evenings are lighter, for those people who haven't got to travel too far and a weekend meet somewhere else for those who can't make it mid-week.  If not Orwell Fields, there's a new bar/cafe at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club, which has more parking than the Butt, or there's Flatford Mill, over Manningham way.

i take it you mean manningtree? yeah flatford mill is nice, except then you've got the problem that when it's wet its horrible but when it's dry it's packed! lol Somewhere with a good view would be nice... so we can take lots of pretty pictures rather than car park cally's!
