my billing / france / nurburgring trip plan 2012
« on: January 21, 2012, 14:00:36 PM »
ive spent the past few days online researching the road trip of a life time and today just got my holiday list for the year and this looks like it might be the year.  My 1st day off is 3rd of august.  Id set off from home to cork.  Ignor the ferry trip to england then drive and another feryy to france.   From a to b is a direct ferry.

Id drive to cork then there is a ferry to roscoff.  I have family and friends in a small sea side town called pelrin, stay there a night.  Then off to st malo, which i have been, its a medevil walled city by the sea.  Totally beautiful and picturesque city, stay here the night then party.  Next would be onto the mont st michele which is a cathadral that took a 1000 years to build with a proper medevil village at the base.  Stay here the night then onto paris.  Stay in paris for a night then onto the ring.

Once the ring would be done it would be the quick race to blighty to billing just in time for friday and a weekends fun and festivities.

Then route home is through wales as last year this was me and billys route and there was about 4 or 5 massive tunnells that the V6 need to roar through before finally home.

Its an epic jpurney, ive wanted to to it for a while and i think this year could be the year.

here is a map of route and pictures of stop points.  This is the last one thing i want to do in my life before i get too old, settle down and have kids.  Weither it happens or not is another thing but im working on it as we speak.

roscoff in france where will will land in france

plerin where i have family and friends from

village at base of the mont st micheal

and then finishing off in billing aquadrome with you guys and on sunday away home.

no point pissin' about alison.  If your going to do something, may as well do it right.

Caculated a few cost and are as follows.....

-Ferry roslare ireland to roscoff france ......202 euro
-free accomadation in plerin
hotel in st malo.................... ......................80 euro
-hotel in paris................... ........................ .80 euro
-few laps around the ring.................... ......200 euro
-ferry calsis to dover................... ...............50 punds
-ferry from wales to dublin.................. ......?170 pounds
-petrol.......................................................?750 pounds

in streling that a total of...................... .....?1280 pounds

and this is before drink, food or fun money is brought into it.  That would pay for an awesome sunny holiday abroad but in not into typical summer holidays, the above is my idea of heaven.  Going to leave it a few weeks, get it well talked over with the new lady friend and hopefully in about a months time i'll start booking.
