Adrian Flux have just provisionally quoted me a very competitive £215 fully comp!

This is very slightly cheaper than the policy I took out just before you announced the Adrian Flux deal.

If my new insurance co. don't get their act together very quickly, I shall tell them to stuff their policy and I'll shift to Adrian Flux - just need to make sure that I get my money back from the other company... I did tell them that if they insisted on me getting a duplicate renewal notice from Norwich, they could cancel the policy, so they agreed to approach Norwich directly 'on my behalf'. I don't care, as long as they don't expect me to chase after the documents that they appear to have lost.

The original problem is that, because the mods to my car are 'not performance enhancing' they do not affect my policy, but the proposal form that they sent me stated that the car was 'not modified'. If I had signed that, without amendment, they could have invalidated the policy in the event of a major claim, on the grounds that I had claimed on the proposal form that the car wasn't modified. I suspect that in processing the amended document, because it was not straightforward, they lost it.

my insurance just now is £498 fully comp i tried adrian to and got £369 fully comp for being a member so thanks to this site i have saved thanks guys

Just tell them that you are a member of ClubCalibra.com when you ask for the quote. It doesnt matter what car you drive, it is the club that is thekey point, so you should qualify for a discount. On the online page, there is a section for if you are a member of any club. If you phone up, just tell them you are a member. Let us know how you get on.

Yeah i tried Adrian Flux, but it was about £100 cheaper through 'More Than' for me.

To be fair though, More Than were considerably cheaper than anyone else

At a guess 'Equity Red Star' are acting as the Underwriters - Adrian Flux are just acting as the brokers. They don't insure your car themselves, they just find you the best deal, a deal that you wouldn't be able to get directly from the same underwriter.

just one my insurance through these guys and its bang on. redtop cally with 17 inch momo alloys, full stainless system, full reiger kit, im 23 with 4 years ncb and my girlfriend is 19 fully comp for £820. which for our age is awesome

Bonus - they were the cheapest out of 40 insurers for me, by about £80. Mentioning the club discount got me a £32 discount.

Yes but I reckon it's a placebo discount or very little. When you ask for a quote, get the price first and then tell them you're a member of the forum, that way they can't give you a phoney discount.

I've been with A/F a couple of years, can't see them being competitive this time round tho after looking at some recent quotes $:-\$ The shame of it is that they claim they'll beat any like for like quote but they always find some minor technicality as to why the policy isn't the same so they can't beat the cheaper quote. Even if the difference was something stupid like the payments being over 11 months with the other insurer

Either they think you're stupid or the one bird I spoke to at A/F was stupid.

Always makes me laugh when any insurer says they can't cut their price any further, it's not as if they've bought the insurance from a supplier at a set cost and have to make some margin on it like curry's would if you were buying an oven for example, insurance is a piece of paper with legal bullsh*t on it.

Personally, they always quote me far less than anyone else - we still have an agreement with them and they will provide a discount, it isn't massive but the more business we put through them, the more discount they'll give us.
