My 'new' insurance company has 'lost' the original renewal notice from my previous insurers and the proposal form that I sent with it and asked me for another one. I posted it in their own FREEPOST envelope & they are certain that they haven't mislaid it in their office & claim that it must have got 'lost in the post'. They asked me to get a duplicate renewal notice from my former insurers, which I am not prepared to do. So I've asked Adrian Flux for a quote, in case I decide to drop them. I'll let you know how I get on...

Adrian Flux have just provisionally quoted me a very competitive �215 fully comp!

This is very slightly cheaper than the policy I took out just before you announced the Adrian Flux deal.

If my new insurance co. don't get their act together very quickly, I shall tell them to stuff their policy and I'll shift to Adrian Flux - just need to make sure that I get my money back from the other company... I did tell them that if they insisted on me getting a duplicate renewal notice from Norwich, they could cancel the policy, so they agreed to approach Norwich directly 'on my behalf'. I don't care, as long as they don't expect me to chase after the documents that they appear to have lost.

The original problem is that, because the mods to my car are 'not performance enhancing' they do not affect my policy, but the proposal form that they sent me stated that the car was 'not modified'. If I had signed that, without amendment, they could have invalidated the policy in the event of a major claim, on the grounds that I had claimed on the proposal form that the car wasn't modified. I suspect that in processing the amended document, because it was not straightforward, they lost it.

I'm not sayin flux are bad, because some of their policy standard options beat admiral but i went on price.

Allthough i do have a great postcode.

From police records i can confirm the last car to be insurance claimed on in my area was in 1997.

My brother is a traffic cop & untill 2 years ago i was a cop also.(injury forced early retirement)(still have the contacts)

I don't know if this is the reason

Lucky you, sounds like you've got a perfect insurance profile - mines very good around here, certainly the lowest quotation I've ever had, and as with you I don't recall there ever being any vehicle crime, touch wood.

Might be worth us compiling an insurance database at some stage, would be interesting to see the comparisons.

Wow, do check the other terms within the policy though, legal cover and elements that can void your warranty, such as do Quinn support modifications?

Modifications were not mentioned anywhere, either on the paperwork or the telephone. There is nothing in the policy small print either. If they don't quote any limitations then they can't cry if i have to claim. I took out my breakdown cover with them aswell, which was an additional �37.50, but that is for full roadside assist and recovery. Not bad at all.

It doesn't matter what car forum you say weather cc.com, mig, cav turbo you get the same "discount"

I am down as a mig member and I asked about cc.com and they said I would get no extra discount so may aswell stay with mig.
