3.8 bar fuel pressure regulator is in now. doesn't make the car any quicker but definitly cures the flat spots. feels alot smoother through the gears as well i think. very worth while mod ;D

The lightweight flywheels such as Courtenays (5.7kgs) will make a huge difference in acceleration. However, you will find the revs drop like you're braking (especially up hills) and the engine won't feel anywhere near as smooth.

Standard is around 16kgs, so I would think something around the 8-10 kgs mark would be a good compromise between improved acceleration and smoothness. Stay away from standard flywheels that have been drilled. They are lighter, but also weaker.

i'm thinking about putting a cold air feed on the car in the next few weeks. i'm just wondering what size i should go for. i'm looking at pipercross kits and have found a 50mm one for £15. is this size at that price worth considering or maybe this one would be better

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360248811270&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

also, has anyone got a photo of the way the kit fits to the airbox. i'm sure its very simple but just want to be sure :)

All you need to do is remove the resonator box,

and then fit a pipe to the airbox, 50mm is too small it needs to be 76mm or larger.

As you can see from the resonator pic it connects to the airbox via a round pipe, on the airbox just connect a pipe and route it to the front bumper via the tow eye cover :)

nice one Robbie, thanks for that :). so pretty straight forward. would 100mm be a bit excessive or ideal. is getting the resonator box out a bumper of job then. one last thing, what about water getting in the feed, any recautions or steps i can take to prevent it

100mm is ok, resonator box is a bitch to get out far too many bolts but it will come out. As for water getting in the feed well i never had a problem with that unless you intend to drive through a river or a deep ford.

And guess what i have sitting in my spares room ?

Hi,

On your second page you put the Omega B black plastic lower manifold? Why it is better than the original? :) Thx!
i'm actually going to fit an enlarged throttle body, enlarged inlet manifold and cold air feed as well. apparently the larger omega lower divider works well with these other mods by increasing air flow. i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong. have a look here
