Not had a lot of time of late....life getting in the way...and i was hung over last week lol.......Took my Sump pan off while i have the down pipe off....the reason for this is i could see bits of Gasket poking out all over...mainly in the corners...so it was well past its best....

Update time.......

The pas pump and aircon compressor are back on....trial fit of the thermostat/hose/hose clamps.

Aircon compressor..

That was a bugger of a job as me being me i did not take note of what bolt went where and what length of  bolt....they were just in a pile on the floor.

The brace on the compressor

Also a trial fit of the baffle plate without the gasket etc

Started to change to bolts on the gear box cover...

As above....trial fitting of the oil pick up pipe and baffle....(pass the pipe though the baffle...then it screws to the block...then baffle with gasket...then sump)

Cam cover fitted with stainless bolts....

Next thing to do is refit the sump/gasket....new oil filter.

Then fill with coolant and see if the thermostat housing leaks....if its ok...then Timing rear cover..belt...etc...then Turn the Key lol

Right further progress....oil pick up pipe back on...gasket...baffle...a nd sump back on.....no pictures as i had RTV sealant on my gloves....made a school boy error on the sump by painting it with non high temp paint....the down pipe passes under it...so im going to get some Wrap for the down pipe to help stop the heat....also it will look cool...and be cooler in the engine bay.....would be nice to wrap the Manifold but thats cast iron i think and is not really "wrap-able".

some may know but i only get a few hours on a sunday morning on the calibra as im a Carer to my partner(post cancer) and here sister(Disabled also).....I`m happy though as i still have a Vision of my calibra being on the road one day.

I would like to thank anybody who is following this long term project and comment on it.

Regards

Mark

Sorry to hear about the family Mark but good that you have a vision and a hobby outside of "normal life" - keep it up, one day it will be back on the road - I for one am looking forward to it. And no doubt based on track record, Alison will be along to ask if it's running yet any moment now ;)
