Values, prices, rising "appriciating classic'?
« on: February 24, 2016, 14:52:15 PM »
Hi

What do people think of the Calibra valves these days, with all the tv shows restoring cars that seem to be everywhere at the moment? (Not that I've seen a calibra on one)

Think there is a trend where people are buying cars they wanted back in their childhood like Golf and 205 Gti.

For me a Calibra!

So I've had the Cally for a couple of years now and she's run up just over 51,000miles and top tip condition with Full history. A 1997 SE8 16v.

She's not getting used too much unless it's the summer or a nice day. Tucked away in the garage and starting to get in the way a bit sadly.

What's the going rate these days, a case of it's worth what you get offered?

Any price guide says peanuts.

Now I paid what I thought was over the odds for mine but I was against another buyer.

Traders like this are trying to get a bit too much?
Many saying they will rocket in valve, or words to that effect!

I would say on the up although rather slowly but also I keep an eye on Classic Car weekly & I dont see the Calibra featured much. It did get a good review in Practical Classics some years back  - the feature car was owned by a member of the club.

Lewis Hamilton said that winning his first race felt better than having sex. Kimi's reply to that was, Maybe he never had sex.

I wonder why Vauxhall Cavaliers seem to hold there value more, There's currently two 4x4 turbos with buy in now price at £5.500 and £5.995 and another in auction for £3.400 with another day to go.

I would say the Cavalier is a more of a 90's icon no matter if it a SRI or the mighty 4x4 Turbo these car's are up there with the greats from the 80's 90's period Golfs,Gt Turbo,Rs Turbo's ETC all these car's won people's heart's the Calibra not so much don't get me wrong i love the shape of the Calibra and love owning and driving mine but if the day did come Calibra or Cavalier i would choose my 1991 Sri Cavalier every time
1992 Silver Calibra C20XE (Weekend Use Only)
1994 SE2 Calibra C20XE (Project Car)
1995 Black Calibra 2.5V6 (Now sold to father)
1991 Red Cavalier SRI C20XE (SORN Since 2008 lol)
2003 Pug 406HDI (Daily Drive)
