New Year
« on: January 03, 2020, 10:40:58 AM »
Hi all

May I wish Cc members past and present .....Best Wishes for 2020.   Maybe we could revive this fading club to the great status it used to be.

The Calibra still lives on to this day and will soon enter the realms of Classic Car Status.

I cannot believe that our love for this Iconic car will fade from our minds........even if it's for old times sake alone to here from what I call the old gang who kept us all informed about their triumphs and difficulties in their struggle to keep their cars on the road.

For those of us few that remain it is not only the death of a great car but the loss of great owners and friends who made this club great.

Best Wishes to all members and let us all try hard to shock this Iconic Car club into action.......friendship. ......and continuity.

Hi Rod,

Happy new year! While I love the sentiment I think it’s a bit too far gone. The split of CC into the “.net” and “.com” groups, dwindling numbers of cars, Facebook groups and likely other things I’ve missed seems to have hit hard.

I love the forums because there’s a treasure trove of connected information, build threads and it’s all searchable. While the FB groups for most Calibra huddles are active they really lack these capabilities.

If you’re at all interested, CC.net “known as Club Calibra to the VBOA” meet often and at many shows including NEC and the annual VBOA rally, not to mention many smaller and local meets. Definitely people still active, just not on these forums.

Take care
Andrew

Hi Andrew

Many thanks for your reply I realise it is wishful thinking on my part .......must be the left over malt whiskey that was responsible Lol.

Not sure if I mentioned this before but me and my Cally have been unwell of late.....my car is on a s.o.r.n and I have had two spells of hospitilisation both within a month of each other.  The first time I had been on antibiotics due to a leg infection then I collapsed in my bathroom.

The result of which I fractured my kneecap and finished up at my local A&E.  During the next four weeks on IV drips of antibiotics and morpheen

I then developed Sepsis which thanks to the strongest antibiotics I recovered thank god.  Then one month later I was rushed in again......this time

In extreme pain and following a Cat scan they discovered I had a highly inflamed Gaul bladder with a stone so big doctors want to keep it for medical science.

Finally......did they operate ??......no....intravenous antibiotics and two weeks of delicious hospital food later I managed to escape the surgeons

scalpel.......( Cowerdly Me). I await the dreaded outpatients letter to inform me that me and my Gaul bladder will part company.  :'(

Sorry to sound so dramatic Andrew but I needed to get this off my chest so to speak......so the next time I take a spanner to my pride and joy it

will be my turn to play the surgeon.Lol

Best wishes for 2020 Andrew

Kind regards

Turbohead. (Rod)

Sounds like you’ve had a real run of it, not surprised at all you need to get it off your chest! So no worries on that front at all.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, that you can avoid the knife and that you and your Calibra can get back on the road!

Best wishes, and take care

Andrew
