f***ing HELL
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:24:15 AM »
whilst being busy with xmas, cooking dinner for 6 and alot of nephws and neices to worry about i squeezed a bit of time on for the calira.  I bought an opcom and it rocks more than anything had ever rocked.  Anyways i couldnt figure how the plug goes into to port in the calibra.  Didnt try it as it looked different.  So a few weeks latter after fixing a fair few mates cars with no problem i asked a guy, was i using the right port??  am i being stupid?? cuz really, im no nothing about wiring and soldering and plugs etc.  But any hows, my trusted friend who ive known for at least 4 years told me "yeah, its the right thing, it might look different, but it fits, push it in"

Now, being a lazy sod, i never tried it for another couple of weeks.  When i got round to properly inspecting it i figured that the opcom plug and the calibra diagnostics plug are different animals.  If i hada tried it i would have fucked my claibra/opcom plug.

Now heres the question.  This person being so in the know, did he over look this, over was it an intentional f*ck over??

You'd say, easy mistake, but i say f*ck that.  This friend not fucked me but has dissapointed me another time or two in the past and i looked over it, with this now i think its a f*ck.

Anyways, rant over.  No names and never will be, but if the offender reads i'd love an explaination to the couple of butt fucks ive had.

Diagnostic reader for hooking up the car to laptop basically, think you can view live data and read codes ect. Good bit of kit 8)

As Gav said you need a 16 pin to 10 pin adaptor which you can get from ebay for around ?5  -  if you have a x25xe engine you will not get all the live data only fault codes - should work ok on c25xe as my opel scanner does
Hi I worked for the V6 Engine Plant for 13 years carrying out durability tests and warranty issues.this job included many trips to USA,Sweden and Germany. My oppo and I bought all the factory tools for the V6 when it closed and repair V6 engines at weekends. also have tech 1 and 2. will answer any v6 questions you have.

yeah, if it hadnt of been for seeing dans thread i would have forced it on, ive now got the addaptor for it, ?5 inc delivery from china, how they hell can they be making money on it?

So i havent actually hooked it up yet but am i right in saying i might have to go to the omega section to check the engine stuff??? as there is no option for the 2.5 in the calibra bit?

I've heard the opel scanner is a lot better to use in general plus it works on c20let (I know that's only an issue for let users).

The software and firmware can be downloaded from quite a few places, garageforum has some on.

opel scanner is brilliant nearly as good as tech2 but it will not work on the calibra X25XE - even though it lists it! great on the C25XE - even supports the actuator modes (same as tech 1/ 2)  this is where you can operate the IAC valve, fire the dis coils, alter idle speed the lot.

I even chatted to the Russian software person via the opel scanner forum - but he said he hardly ever saw a calibra - basicaly more interested in sorting problems with later models  >:(

Check out the relevant sub forum on garageforums uk, they will link to all the firmware/software updates perhaps one of them will provide functionality with c25xe.
